In alignment with this vision, the City partnered with EIDIM Group to modernize the audiovisual systems and support within the City of El Cajon’s owned facilities.
Project Description
The upgrade project included the integration of advanced display technologies, audio solutions, and control systems across three critical spaces: the Community Room, Training Room, and Communications Center. These spaces are essential for meetings, emergency response coordination, training sessions, and 911 call and dispatch operations.
Each room was carefully evaluated to meet current and future needs, allowing for flexible inputs, clear visuals, and high-quality audio to ensure all participants, whether in-person or remote, can engage and respond effectively. Equipment was installed with flexibility in mind, allowing quick access to inputs and outputs for various uses, including press briefings, real-time incident monitoring, and training exercises.
EIDIM Group partnered with the City of El Cajon to upgrade audiovisual systems across key public safety spaces, including the Community Room, Training Room, and Communications Center. The enhancements included advanced display technologies, flexible audio solutions, and control systems, ensuring high-quality communication for meetings, training, and emergency response coordination. Rooms with Upgraded AV Systems
Public Safety Center Community Room
This large multi-use space is designed for meetings, press briefings, and use as an Emergency Operations Center. The room features the integration of advanced audio-visual racks placed in dedicated adjacent rooms for easy access and maintenance. Flexibility is an added key feature, with the ability to add multiple computer inputs without requiring a wired podium. Additionally, the new system provides five new audio outputs with XLR connections to accommodate press audio recording needs.
Public Safety Center Training Room
A medium-to-large conference space primarily used for police department training that supports up to 30 participants. Video walls were installed in this room to facilitate both training videos and interactive sessions. The displays are large and clear, paired with reliable, loud audio to ensure all attendees can hear and engage with the content. Wireless and HDMI inputs are included, allowing guest presenters to connect their laptops quickly and easily
Public Safety Center Communications Center
The City’s primary 911 and police dispatch call center. It is equipped with mounted displays used for monitoring building surveillance, street cameras, cable TV, and other critical incidents. The system has been designed with adaptability in mind, offering the ability to add new inputs on the fly as needed to address evolving situations. This flexibility supports real-time monitoring and incident response, enabling staff to act quickly and efficiently.

The audiovisual system upgrade has transformed these vital spaces into modern, flexible, and reliable environments for public safety communications, training, and incident management. The upgraded systems allow staff and officials to monitor multiple inputs simultaneously, respond swiftly to emergencies, and conduct clear, effective training and briefings.
