Artificial intelligence or most people know as AI has been present in our lives for more than 70 years now and it has grown drastically and is continuously advancing together with technology. In 2022, AI became popular specifically because of its accessibility to the public when in December OpenAI allowed public use of ChatGPT, their chatbot that uses natural language processing to create humanlike conversational dialogue. Gemini, Google’s counterpart, was launched a year later. We all know that AI will be here to stay for a long time but how will it take the audiovisual industry to another level this 2025?

AGENTIC AI

Companies like Avixa, IBM, Blue Prism, and the provider of research and consulting services for businesses in the IT sector, Gartner have expressed their agreement on the rise of Agentic AI in 2025. Agentic AI is an intelligence system that can break down problems, reason out, create multi-step plans, and take action by interacting with tools and databases to achieve company-aligned goals.

According to Gartner, from less than 1% of use in enterprise software applications last 2024 it is estimated to reach up to 33% in 2028. Most of the used AI tools today are prompted to generate their responses through a human, with Agentic AI they can work alone, they will create a plan and use tooling to complete tasks, and produce dynamic outputs because of their goal-driven nature these software entities use AI techniques to complete tasks.

For the AV industry, Agentic AI will enhance transaction processing in schools, government offices, and corporate environments. By integrating Agentic AI into AV control systems, organizations can automate workflows, streamline operations, and reduce human intervention in routine tasks. From managing video conferencing setups to optimizing digital signage based on real-time data, this technology will improve both productivity and user experience.

VOICE-ACTIVATED CONTROLS

Voice-activated controls will also see significant advancements in 2025. AI-driven voice recognition systems are expected to become more sophisticated, expanding beyond personal assistants like Alexa and Siri. In AV environments, voice commands will allow users to control lighting, audio, and display systems seamlessly, creating more intuitive and accessible interactions. This development will be particularly beneficial in conference rooms, smart classrooms, and auditoriums, where hands-free operation enhances convenience and efficiency. 

DYNAMIC LIGHTING

Another innovation expected in 2025 is dynamic lighting powered by AI. Lighting systems will leverage AI algorithms to adjust brightness, color temperature, and ambiance based on various factors such as time of day, audience engagement, and event type. AI-driven lighting is expected to optimize environments by reducing eye strain, improving focus, and synchronizing content in real-time.  

These advancements are among the systems that will redefine the AV industry this year. AI will make systems more intelligent, responsive, and adaptive. This is predicted to lead to technological advancements, which will result in systems analyzing user behavior, optimizing audio and video quality in real-time, and adjusting lighting and sound levels based on the environment. As technology continues to evolve, the integration of AI into AV solutions will not only improve operational efficiency but also elevate user experiences to new heights.
