The Law Enforcement Training Center’s mission is to provide innovative, high-quality training to local, state, and federal law enforcement professionals. In accordance with their motto, “Excellence in Training and Education” they offer a wide variety of advanced professional development courses focusing on furthering the skills, knowledge, and training of peace officers. The Contra Costa Sheriff Law Enforcement Training Center partnered with EIDIM to further enhance the learners’ and instructors’ experience by providing high-quality audio-visual systems in their new building.
Project Description
This project involves installing advanced audiovisual systems across multiple rooms, including five offices, three classrooms, a conference room, a Force Options Simulation Room, and an open gym, to enhance education and collaboration. Classrooms will feature direct-view LED wall displays for immersive visuals, interactive touchscreens, ceiling-mounted Ultra High-Definition signage monitors, and wired and wireless presentation options. Each room will be equipped with Atlona Velocity touch panels for easy AV control, and the system will also include microphones, Bluetooth pairing, and video conferencing solutions for seamless interaction.
The conference room will have a large 86″ 4K UHD display, a PTZ camera for video conferencing, and a Velocity touch panel for intuitive control over AV settings. Offices will have wall-mounted 65″ Ultra High-Definition displays, wireless presentation systems, and Velocity touch panels for easy multimedia management. The open gym will feature large displays connected through an Atlona matrix system, with a reception touchscreen for centralized control. This AV system upgrade will streamline multimedia management, enhancing the training center’s overall user experience and functionality.

Technology and Solutions Used
Direct-view LED Wall Display
The Classrooms had a direct-view LED wall display, which marked a significant leap forward in visual technology. Unlike traditional tiled video walls with bezels, the direct-view LED display offers a range of compelling advantages that elevate the overall educational experience. For example, it presents a continuous canvas of vibrant visuals, allowing uninterrupted engagement and improved content readability.
Wireless Presentation Platform and Wired Presentation Options
Atlona provided wireless and wired presentation platforms to enhance collaboration sessions in all the rooms, particularly the Atlona AT-WAVE-101 and the Atlona HDBaseT transmitter. Both products support ultra-high-definition (UHD) displays, ensuring crisp and clear visuals during presentations. These solutions enhance the flexibility and quality of collaboration sessions, accommodating various user preferences and room setups.
Integrated Audio Solutions
The project incorporates advanced audio systems to ensure crystal-clear sound quality across all rooms, enhancing communication and engagement during training sessions and presentations. Ceiling-mounted microphones provide optimal audio pickup for large spaces, while integrated speakers deliver even sound distribution. Additionally, Bluetooth-enabled audio systems allow seamless connectivity with personal devices, offering flexibility for instructors and presenters.
Project Outcome
Following the completion of the upgrades to the Audio-Visual System of the City Council Chamber, the venue now boasts enhanced capabilities to support regular public meetings. The integration of LED displays, microphones, video switchers, scan converters, distribution amplifiers, and other essential equipment ensures improved communication and presentation quality. This comprehensive enhancement facilitates a more efficient and engaging environment for council members and attendees alike, contributing to more productive and transparent public proceedings.
